Anglicans for Life Activities

Baby Bottle Bank Drive

The Baby Bottle Bank Drive is ongoing until Oct. 6. The idea is to grab a baby bottle ‘bank' from church and take it home. Over the next couple of months, fill it up and bring it back. All proceeds will be sent on to Trotter House!

Help Healing & Hope Benefit

The Trotter House Help, Healing & Hope Benefit will be held on Thursday, October 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Junior League of Austin Community Impact Center. The keynote speaker is Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist who has an amazing story to tell about his change of heart and how he is now a champion of life. More details are here.

A table was donated for St. Francis members to attend. If you are interested in attending, a signup list is on the small table near the kitchen door.

Sunday School

Classes begin September 8 at 9:30 am. The adult forum is held in the Fellowship area and is led by Fr. Cappucci. Youth are upstairs. The older class is under the direction of Doug Cooper with Frank and Donna Hunt stepping in from time to time.

The younger class now has four teachers who will share the teaching duties this year: Amy Crandell, Jessica Brummett, Adriane Kristo-Reinking, and Missy Bernard. We will be using a Sunday School Curriculum developed for a traditional Anglican church. Titled “The Life of Christ: From Bethlehem to Emmaus”. This is is a complete curriculum written for children ages five to twelve. Through storytelling, activities, games, skits, projects, memory verses and review activities, the youth learn about the life of Christ.

The nursery will be staffed beginning at 1:15. Missy Bernard continues to coordinate with the sitting service we use.

Hope to see all of you in Sunday school!

Ice Cream Social

The annual Ice Cream Social is planned for September 8 after the 10:30 service. Even though the heat will continue for several more weeks, we like to think the end is in sight after the Labor Day holiday. The members of the St. Polycarp's Men's Guild will make delicious, creamy ice cream and supply the fixings for all to enjoy.

Choir

The St. Francis choir will start rehearsals on September 8 after the 10:30 service - when we have our fill of ice cream. All the members are looking forward to preparing music to sing to the glory of God!

Funeral Service

The memorial service for St. Francis member, Fielder Dowding will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 1 pm at St. Francis. The service will be broadcast on Zoom, for those who cannot attend in person.

  • We are called to know the Word of God, to act on it in our lives and to share it with our brothers and sisters in the world.

  • We are determined to uphold the ancient faith of our ancestors in the Anglican tradition, to offer traditional Christian values based on the Holy Word of God and to be faithful witnesses to the person of Jesus in the Austin Community.

  • St. Francis parish is dedicated to the presence of Christ in the lives of the poor, the needy, the sick, to each other and to all those to whom Jesus comes to minister in his life on earth.

  • As a community of believers, we intend to entrust our growth in love, in faith and in resources to the generosity of God.
